OUR GUESTS ARE WELCOME TO
To celebrate the start of the new year, we invite you to meet us at Le Deffend Vieux on Sunday 12 January 2025 for a lovely walk/picnic on Mont Aurélien. If the weather is fine, please arrive at 10am for a 10:30am departure. We'll prepare a soup for everyone to heat up at the summit, and let you sign up for the aperitif, cheese, wine and desserts. If the sky is too overcast, or if the drops cover us, we suggest arriving at 1 p.m. to enjoy the soup at home (bring your reading material, music to share, as well as cushions, plaids, bowls and spoons). A big kiss to you all, and happy Christmas and New Year. Sara, Edouard
August 2023, and the first one was a masterstroke: maybe not the paella of the century, but certainly ‘a gourmet and festive paella’, not just tasted but prepared together, guests and friends, each to his task, who with the peppers, who with the onions..., who with the cooking, who can-who wants, the hand in the dough. Everyone is welcome. We'll be back again, in July or August 2024, if you feel like it...
THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Week 15: A snack and planting to round off the visits by the 2 middle section classes.
The aim is to promote cultural exchanges around nature and the garden.
Since the start of the school year in 2023, Sara has been coordinating nature and garden discovery workshops at Les Colombes nursery school, in conjunction with Ehpad Olympe de Trets: a project to green the school's outdoor spaces and encourage intergenerational encounters.`
PAST EVENTS
Evening in partnership with Ateliers Récréation (pottery workshop in Rousset).
Meal ‘around the Mediterranean’ and Raku firing of the bowl that each participant will have glazed on the spot.
And of course, as usual, the ingredients will come mainly from local organic farming.
The shared garden at Le Deffend Vieux.
We dreamt about it, we wanted to build it on a larger plot of land, we didn't think we were up to the task, we're always thinking about big projects, and then finally we created it, here, on a small piece of land, less ambitious than in our dreams, but for three years we came and made it a real shared garden, friendly, frequented by a few lovers....
The Local Exchange System (SEL) at La Mine de Trets is organising a Local Exchange Exchange at Sara and Edouard's home in Le Deffend Vieux.
The idea is for members to bring along items such as books and records in good condition and offer them to other members in exchange for poppies.
Anastasia, Louison and Noé are students at the Lycée régional hôtelier in Marseille. They have come together as a group to share their passion and broaden their skills by learning new ways of baking and pastry-making.
Philippe Forcioli . Grand prix de l'Académie Charles Cros 1995 for his ‘François d'Assise’ adapted from Joseph Delteil (Grasset 1960), Prix Jacques Douai 2009 for his body of work.
For more than thirty years, he has been touring the country, delivering a song-poem that is both profound and light, accessible to the simple and the literate alike. An outstanding melodist and actor, he sings, declaims and enchants.
